Trophy Trucks are the fastest class of off-road racing vehicles which are designed and built to resemble modern pickup trucks. Although any truck that meets the safety standards can race the trophy truck class, they, for the most part, feature long travel suspensions and high power engines. They are intended for desert racing, and most are not street legal like their practice counterparts, the pre-runners. Trophy Trucks can reach speeds in excess of 135 miles per hour even over rough terrain. This puts them among the fastest off-road vehicles in the world. The trucks are most frequently associated with the Baja 1000 race, series that have featured trophy trucks including SCORE International, and Best In The Desert or BITD, in which they are referred to as "Trick Trucks".

Relative early in the race the Trophy Trucks at El Tule, Vildosola is already at the tail of Jesse James, first of the line (2 times since there was a restart because of a blockage about 5 miles into the course)

Desert Assassins race 2 Trophy Trucks at Baja 1000

The uber off road vehicle is the Trophy Truck, the premiere builder in the class is Geiser Bros. and the Desert Assassins will come to the green flag with two of their trucks for the 2011 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.

The 2011 team will feature the “OG”, or original, Geiser Bros. truck as well as the newest Geiser effort as they have rolled the 33rd truck they have ever built into the DA stable. “The idea is to fortify the effort of our team and our partners including Yokohama Tire who bring their all new 40 inch tire to the Baja 1000 for the first time ever” said team driver Cameron Steele.

Cameron will drive his trademark #16 Monster Energy/Yokohama Tire/Lucas Oil/KMC Wheels/ReadyLift truck off the line in Ensenada Friday November 18th with his long time navigator Cody Stuart.
